In Memory of Brian Michael Kocsis

January 15, 1951 - June 08, 2025

It was the first day of grade school and I was instructed to cross the street directly in front of a white, two story house and wait for the St. John's School bus. With my lunch box in hand, a few minutes passed and out of the house came another first grader. He had a happy bounce to his step. As he got closer, his memorable, million dollar smile eased the first school day tensions.

"Hi, I'm Brian Kocsis...nice to meet you"!

From that first introduction came a lifetime of friendship that lasted 68 years.

From early on, neighborhood baseball and football games evolved.  We built tree houses and underground forts. We staged mock battles in-line with then, the popular television series, "Combat".

In 6th grade, we were all assigned to write a poem about going to church. Brian's poem, was most memorable, as I recall:  He wrote:

"to church on Sunday we must go, through rain, hail, sleet and snow.

to give some money, always in touch,

to our heavenly God, who we love so much". ....."A"!

In 7th grade, I performed my very first school concert with my red Harmony, single cutaway guitar and small amp. I was shy and very nervous. Brian, seeing my apprehension, called me over an said quietly, "you can do it!".  Feeling more assured, though my eyes  transfixed on my guitar neck, Boogie Woogie in the key E filled the room. I barely noticed, when I heard the unexpected applause.  Looking up, Brian softly smiled and nodded an affirmation.

Also that year, we co-sponsored a halloween party in my basement. To my surprise, Brian showed amazing artistic abilities as he free-hand sketched on our backdrops, opening scenes from the

classic 1931 move, Frankenstein. It was impressive and encouraged me to be the artist I am today.

From the other side of our split basement, we built a "spook house" out of large, cut-down cardboard boxes and added eerie music.

We took swimming lessons at Chaney School pool and saw the epic 1959 movie, Ben-Hur.

He was my bud through grade school and part of high school.

It was fun and great times. The learning, growing and experiencing life.

Of course in the process of growing up, we discovered a game changer....girls!

Years later, in our usual banter, Brian asked me, how does this sound?  "Kocsis for Congress".

I replied, not bad, but I like better, "Polyak For President". We both laughed. Of course, I was kidding.

Brian and Deb would periodically come out to hear my band, Lord Ashley perform at the Edifice in 1975, a lounge in Crest Hill, Il. Later with another band, at the many large, beer tent venues we played in the late 90's.

Throughout the years, we had numerous guitar jams, sometimes including a drummer and keyboards. The music of The Beatles, Jim Croce, BoDeans and other artists rocked the house.

                                     *********************************************

He will be missed by all that knew him. Gratefully though, no more pain, discomfort or suffering.

May God bless you Brian, and your beautiful family.

We will meet again and jam like never before. (keep your guitar on stand-by)

Until that time, and rest in peace my dear friend.

A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS

                                                    BASED ON A TRUE STORY

It was a Thursday evening in Tennessee October, 1981. I was traveling with my position as a six southern states Manager of Engineering, Marketing and Sales. I decided to stop for an evening dinner at a local up scale restaurant. My mood was somewhat melancholy, since its's never fun to eat alone. The waiter seated me and observed the evening diners coming in. I noticed a table, about 8 feet away with two senior citizens. I didn't pay much attention, but shortly after they ordered, I heard the waiter wishing them a Happy 60th Anniversary. Something seemed peculiar though, as my curiosity grew, I noticed the couple was exceptional quiet with little emotion on their special day. As their dinner arrived, I was drawn back to their table. I thought, something's wrong. My dinner had just arrived and enjoyed a nice steak. After a while, I decided to introduce myself. I went to their table and said, Hi I'm Bill and I overheard that today is your 60th Anniversary. Is that right?  The gentleman, with thinning white hair in his 80's slowly looked up and acknowledged with a slight smile and said, Yes, it's our anniversary. Is this your celebration today, I responded?  He again said with a a somewhat sad look on his face, yes.  What your names, I asked. Henry and Marge Hansen, he said. Do you have children and grandchildren, I asked?  Marge responded, we have 3 children and 7 grandchildren with moment of pride. The mood shifted, as she looked back at her plate, a sad look reappeared and said, but live far away and don't have time for us any more. I asked, my I join you for dessert?  At this point, it appeared they were receptive to a little companionship.

The evening progressed, as I asked more and more questions about their lives. I asked, what were some of the most memorable times watching your children grow? Marge, looking at Henry. I remember the time when we bought a train set at Christmas and our little Johnny couldn't wait Christmas day to enjoy it.  Henry, oh, and then there was the time we went to Florida and the kids just loved our little vacation. After awhile, the memories flowed sometimes talking over each other with enthusiasm.

The dessert lasted over an hour. At some point, I announced I needed to visit the washroom.  However, I quietly and out of range of sight, I informed all of the staff and cooks about this special evening. I also, quietly informed other patrons of their special anniversary.

After using the facilities, a tear appeared on my cheek. I was greeted from a near distance Henry and Marge standing, with a long line that had formed of well wishers.  Smiles, handshakes and greetings.  A too quiet of an evening turned into their 60th wedding celebration.

I informed Henry and Marge I had to leave and get some rest. Henry, took my hand in both of his and said, "thank you", young man.  We gave each other a hug, and wished them both well, as I departed.

I think I did something good tonight. I'll never forget that evening, of making a difference with a random act of kindness.

THERAPY TOWER II - when innovation meets medical needs

Video

In early July of 2024, our Veterinarian advised us to say goodbye to our 15 + year old Cavalier King Charles, PRINCE CHARLIE. Not prepared for the ominous news of his heart, kidney and increasing neurological issues, I responded by designing what is called his wellness center with a custom  THERAPY TOWER II  (left side of the video). Single, to programmable hertz frequency brain entrainment.

From the inspirations of Nikola Testa and other conventional approaches, he's surpassed 13 months!

New for 2025: THE BINARY PROJECTION SYSTEM

THE BINARY PROJECTION SYSTEM combines the Therapy Tower II (white) and the new, fVIBE1000 (black). The fVIBE1000 integrates custom made, reverse and timed audio/vibration hertz frequency signal flow via piezoelectric transducer - ELECTRODES to the effected organs. Pulsation and more resonance control is being added.
